Disgraced Sprinter

II Timothy 2:1 – 15
“Similarly, if anyone compete as an athlete, he does not receive the victors crown unless he competes according to the rules” v 6.

In the spring of August 2000 at the Sydney Olympics a young lady by name Mario Jones, stunned the whole world by winning five(s) Olympic medals in one championship, straight ahead she became the talk of the town, an instant celebrity, her alma mater back there in the USA, entered her name and portray in the hall of fame and she became the greatest female athlete ever; yours faithfully was moved by her achievement, she earned my respect, even up till now.
However, it was but for a season, because in October 2007, seven (7) year later; she pleaded guilty to using drugs to enhance her performance on the track since 1999, after several denial; this led to her being stripped of her five medals; the once golden Girl of the track said one newspaper article is now known as MARIO JONES A DISGRACED SPRINTER.
In her words, when she was released from a US prisons, the early part of the year 2008, “it wasn’t as difficult to give back the medals because it’s not about the hardware. It was about the memory, so that memory is what will be tarnished”. Friend as you race on in life, you must know that every race has a rule, if you must not be disgraced like Mario Jones you must make – up your mind to abide by the various instruction that will come your way as you fellowship with a living church share fellowship with other Christians, meet up with your day to day activities as a resident member of earth.
You must know that here in this world, there abound excess freedom, be advice, God has designed that freedom for you to live a purpose driven life don’t run this race in vain shun wickedness, stick to the rule (Holiness) ‘Run to win’

Lesson Learnt

Prayer Point

Everybody Should Win:The need to Learn how to Resolve Conflict

“Two are better than one, because they have good return for their labour” Eccl. 4:9 “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14 As a development consultant with some specialty in conflict management, working in the space for over a decade now, I can confirm that indeed life is inevitable without conflicts. But how we manage the process is key. The Bible references above reminds of the benefits we get from working together and also living in peace and above all the spiritual benefits. Living in peace facilitates holy living, which in turn makes us to see the Lord, in everything we do. This article will be a form of review of Gary Chapman’s book “Everybody Wins: Guide to Solving Conflicts without Arguing” (if you can please get a copy for yourself). The goal of everyone, couples or people in relationship should be to resolve conflict without arguing. We must first establish before proceeding ...

Prayer Mission Statement IV

Acts 10:1-8 “He and all his family were devout and God fearing, he gave generously to those in need and prayed regularly” v 2. We go a step further  in our family prayer series, before we round up it up with the next post by His grace. The suggestion in part IV is to formulate a family prayer mission statement, our praying should focus on our mission statement. Remember some couples of weeks back, we shared the issue of vision and mission statement together and through the scripture, we agreed that without a vision/mission statement people perish, people are stagnant or have no direction at all. Like said yesterday that as a family there is need to have or know the purpose and plan of God for our family. The statement could be written or not, but it gives your family direction. For Cornelius, he and his family knew they were meant to help the poor and pray fervently. They never used their position as a prominent military family to intimidate people. Their statement ...
