Common Sense

Joshua 9:1-26 “The men of Israel sampled their provisions but did not enquire of the lord. Then Joshua made a treaty of peace with then to let them live and the leaders of the assembly ratified it by oath”. V 14-15. The issue of using ones common sense has been an issue of division among the body of Christ, even in this generation of motivational speakers. Men are neglecting the place of consulting God on critic issues or even smaller matter like traveling. And some of this issues or matters have brought some great trouble to the body of Christ, individuals or  some trouble the Nation is facing now. From the Bible passage above, (Exodus 34:11-16) we saw how Joshua, a great servant of God, with the Israelite felled into this trap of common sense, because humanly speaking, checking of the provisions of the deceptive Gibeonite, was what common sense would do, but for them, they’ve forgotten that their life or being has gone beyond commonsense, God has been givi...

Christian Leadership Ethics

Matt 20:25-27 “…and whoever wants to be first must be your slave” v27 Christian Leadership Ethics As we know a leader is suppose to inspire, guide, influence or be a pace setter to their followers. But today we all want to become leaders, not to positively influence or guide, but to enrich ourselves. However in Christian leadership from the Holy Bible passage above, it is the life first; a man that can carry God into his business. Christ first in the leader, before anything else. Meaning that in the issue of being born-again, the inner must correspond to the outside. Until you see your position in leadership as a call to serve, you are on a path of self-service. The reason the church is weeping today is that, we have placed the wrong men in leadership. In Christian leadership rights and privileges are meant for the followers.          Lesson Learnt Directly or indirectly our life’s is modeling someone’ life; so we must dare to live by exa...

The insurance agent shares the following experience: His wealthy neighbour planned to build a big house with every convenience. In order to provide security for his wife he decided to take out insurance policy. The forms were completed and ready for signing. The agent phoned the neighbour to tell him that his signature was all that was needed. But the man delayed as neighbour's they often met; so he reminded him repeatedly, but after some months the man had still failed to sign as the premium was high. At a later encounter the agent suggested, “The best thing would be to sign three days before the disaster happens”. His neighbour laughed, saying, “I can’t calculate that accurately” and said good bye. The next morning his private plane crashed, and he was killed. A few days ...
