How conducive is your House?

Mark 4: 35 -41
“Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion…” v 38

There is a popular Christian saying, that have been transcribed on placard, and you find it in almost all Christian home, even in our family house in the sitting room hanging on the wall in those days it is what you see as you enter. It reads thus:

Christ is the Head of this House.
The unseen Guest at Every meal
The silent listener to every conversation

But permit me to ask you? Is Christ really the head, is he invited to your meals and are your conversation what he could listen to. How conducive is your House? Can Jesus sleep there; Peter’s boat was so conducive that even in a storm, Christ was still sleeping.
That storm arises around you, does not mean Christ is not with you, provided you are sure you are not the leaving him. It is not only tidiness and cleanliness that makes a house conducive, what’s the relationship between you and your family members, what of your neighbours? do they have any thing good to say about you. Does your family pray together, share love, trouble, joy, peace and things together? It’s only when you stick together through love and praying, that Christ can be the head, a guest  and a silent listener to every discussion in your home.

Prayer
Lord, help my family to be one that sticks together. Help heal broken homes around my neighbourhood in Jesus Name(Amen)

As we begin a another day, you must know you are god, because Christ lives in you, if you ...

Everybody Should Win:The need to Learn how to Resolve Conflict

“Two are better than one, because they have good return for their labour” Eccl. 4:9 “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14 As a development consultant with some specialty in conflict management, working in the space for over a decade now, I can confirm that indeed life is inevitable without conflicts. But how we manage the process is key. The Bible references above reminds of the benefits we get from working together and also living in peace and above all the spiritual benefits. Living in peace facilitates holy living, which in turn makes us to see the Lord, in everything we do. This article will be a form of review of Gary Chapman’s book “Everybody Wins: Guide to Solving Conflicts without Arguing” (if you can please get a copy for yourself). The goal of everyone, couples or people in relationship should be to resolve conflict without arguing. We must first establish before proceeding ...

Prayer Mission Statement IV

Acts 10:1-8 “He and all his family were devout and God fearing, he gave generously to those in need and prayed regularly” v 2. We go a step further  in our family prayer series, before we round up it up with the next post by His grace. The suggestion in part IV is to formulate a family prayer mission statement, our praying should focus on our mission statement. Remember some couples of weeks back, we shared the issue of vision and mission statement together and through the scripture, we agreed that without a vision/mission statement people perish, people are stagnant or have no direction at all. Like said yesterday that as a family there is need to have or know the purpose and plan of God for our family. The statement could be written or not, but it gives your family direction. For Cornelius, he and his family knew they were meant to help the poor and pray fervently. They never used their position as a prominent military family to intimidate people. Their statement ...
