Hurricane North-Easter

Acts 27:1-44
“Men, I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo, and to our lives also” v 10
“We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities …. against spiritual host of wickedness” Eph. 6:12.

Dear friend even as we battle unstable weather conditions around the globe; so also are we fighting such an unpleasant weather in the spiritual realm, if there is any time that the spiritual clouds as been turbulent it’s this Panasonic generation. I would love to use Paul’s experience with the North-Easter hurricane to get us equipped for these coming storms.  Paul Apostle was preparing to sail for Italy under centurion Julius as a prisoner. During a stopover at Sidon, Paul was allowed to see, is friends, who provided for his needs. Though Paul was already aware of the Hurricane force “the North-Easter” which they would encounter on the way; he warned them but they refuse to yield.

When it began gradually the people waited in fear, they were in the eye of the storm, at the centre of trouble. The wind was so fierce; it is the same with the world we live in which threaten our safety. For Paul he was ready, his need were provided for, so in the next couple of days, we would see, what and what one needs to prepare for such storm as Hurricane “North- Easter”; which will include: water, food and proper shelter to weather the storm until it passed.

Let’s start with the food provision

Supply One: Food
The way one prepares for a hurricane visit is the same preparation that is necessary in our lives as we face the bombardment of spiritual forces and evil principalities. We too must stock up on the right supplies of spiritual food including Gods Holy spirit and find shelter in His church, which serves as a haven from Satan’s corrupt world, so we can safely weather the storm.
Supply one is food: to survive a storm we must have food. Like physical food during a hurricane, we all need to equip ourselves with spiritual cooler of Gods truth from the very words of Christ. He tells us that “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word … of God” (Matt 4:4…)

Prayer Point

*Lord Jesus, help me pass through the entire storm that would face me in life in Jesus Name (Amen)

*Lord Jesus, if there is any time I need more spiritual food, it is now in this evil days, help me to always be fed, both in season and out of season (Amen)

Everybody Should Win:The need to Learn how to Resolve Conflict

“Two are better than one, because they have good return for their labour” Eccl. 4:9 “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14 As a development consultant with some specialty in conflict management, working in the space for over a decade now, I can confirm that indeed life is inevitable without conflicts. But how we manage the process is key. The Bible references above reminds of the benefits we get from working together and also living in peace and above all the spiritual benefits. Living in peace facilitates holy living, which in turn makes us to see the Lord, in everything we do. This article will be a form of review of Gary Chapman’s book “Everybody Wins: Guide to Solving Conflicts without Arguing” (if you can please get a copy for yourself). The goal of everyone, couples or people in relationship should be to resolve conflict without arguing. We must first establish before proceeding ...

Prayer Mission Statement IV

Acts 10:1-8 “He and all his family were devout and God fearing, he gave generously to those in need and prayed regularly” v 2. We go a step further  in our family prayer series, before we round up it up with the next post by His grace. The suggestion in part IV is to formulate a family prayer mission statement, our praying should focus on our mission statement. Remember some couples of weeks back, we shared the issue of vision and mission statement together and through the scripture, we agreed that without a vision/mission statement people perish, people are stagnant or have no direction at all. Like said yesterday that as a family there is need to have or know the purpose and plan of God for our family. The statement could be written or not, but it gives your family direction. For Cornelius, he and his family knew they were meant to help the poor and pray fervently. They never used their position as a prominent military family to intimidate people. Their statement ...
